Freshman year I lived in Botetourt
Living on ramen and freezer burnt tater tots
My RA said you’re eating like a schmoe 
There’s a place for food / you really gotta go 

I said well let’s go...

He took me down to DOG street / Didn’t see no dogs 

Just some dudes playing fifes and wearing leather clogs 

He pointed over there, I skidded to a stop 
That’s when I saw it — the Cheese Shop

Sophomore year / I met a sweetie pie
I knew she kinda liked me but I was kinda shy
My calculus professor said, you know just what to do
He tossed me seven bucks he’d been keeping in his shoe 

I said, well that’s differential...

We polished off our combos, she had dressing on her cheek 

That magical elixir, I was no longer meek

I licked it off her face it really was outlandish
And from that point on I was her Earl of Sandwich

On graduation day, the registrar calls
I said make it quick, there’s a kegger on my hall 

She said not so fast hot shot, as of this date 

You’re one credit short / you can’t graduate

I said - gimme half an hour... 

Ran to Merchant Square / Not looking left or right
Pancaked a tourist, ignored every light
Left my footprints on a car at Confusion Corner 
If I didn’t get back I was gonna be a gonner.

Took the sandwich to the registrar she said that’s tasty

About that credit, maybe I was hasty
She scribbled on my record and to my relief
That’s how I graduated / Phi Beta Roast Beef
